Pune: Sancheti Hospital has announced its recognition as a Stroke Ready Centre, marking a critical step forward in enhancing emergency and neurological healthcare services in Pune.
The stroke ready centre recognition was formally declared at a press conference attended by the hospital’s leadership team, including Dr Parag Sancheti (Chairman), Rupal Sancheti (Director, Marketing & Communications), Dr Yashvanth Shivanna (Head of the Hospital), and members of the Department of Neurosciences.
Stroke Ready Centre: Advancing Emergency Stroke Care
Stroke is a time-sensitive medical emergency and remains the second leading cause of death and third leading cause of disability worldwide, according to the World Stroke Organisation (2023). Studies indicate that patients treated within the first 60 minutes—the “Golden Hour” – have a far greater chance of survival and reduced long-term disability.

By becoming a certified Stroke Ready Centre, Sancheti Hospital ensures that patients receive immediate access to neurologists, advanced imaging technology, and state-of-the-art interventional care, supported by comprehensive rehabilitation facilities.
Collaboration with Angels Initiative
Sancheti Hospital’s achievement was made possible through the support of the Angels Initiative, a global program dedicated to improving stroke treatment outcomes. The initiative trained and certified more than 40 clinical staff members at Sancheti in protocols recognized by the World Stroke Organisation.
William Masih, Country Head, Angels Initiative, highlighted that the program works globally with hospitals to enhance stroke care readiness, promote timely interventions, and establish best practices in stroke treatment.
